Director’s message 67

International School of Ouagadougou parents,

Thank you for your positive feedback for our trial period response. Please note it has been successful in some schools, however, not in all. Generally speaking the higher the vaccination rate, the more successful the trial period is. If, however, at any time we notice a spike in cases (even during the trial period), mask wearing will return to ISO. However, we are confident as a community that if we all do our part, we can continue to make it through this challenging period.

Please note that the following safety measures will be continued to be in full effect:

1. Washing hands

2. Temperature checks

The present Vaccination Status of our community. Please note as per the attached document children as young as 12 can be vaccinated here in Burkina Faso.

Working together as a community, we can continue to make the impossible, possible! Please see attached form for information on vaccination for those who are 12 and over.

Note: WAISAL (West African International Schools Activities League) will return next year on a limited basis, however, in order to comply with WAISAL protocol all students going to live events must have their vaccines fully up to date.

Upcoming Dates:

Friday: School PD Day. No students at school, school not in session.

Monday: Easter Monday National Holiday, all schools in Burkina Faso are officially closed.

Have a great four-day weekend.

Jeff
