Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Who we are and our mission
The ISO Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is called the ISOuagadoers and was formed in April 2003 by parents and teachers who wanted to support ISO on all fronts: students, teachers, parents, and staff.
Our mission is threefold:
1) Build community. We facilitate building positive relationships among all members of the ISO community, including parents, students, teachers, the Board, and administrative staff.
2) Carry out fund raising events. We carry out fund raising events so that we can contribute to making our children’s experience at ISO the best it can be. We generate funds and then use those funds for a variety of school projects which support students and teachers.
What we do
The PTA is involved in many regular and ad hoc activities around campus. Annual PTA events usually include the Welcome Back Family BBQ, Africa Night, a Teacher Appreciation lunch, and many more.
Our major annual fundraiser, the Holiday Fair, has raised over 15,000 Euro in the past three years and attracts over 500 visitors each time.
After carrying out fund raising events, the PTA decides how to spend its funds. In the past, the PTA has financed infrastructure projects like improving the safety of the elementary playground, teacher generated projects like improving the science lab, and supporting a medical charity field trip for our students.
How to get involved
As a PTA member you can commit to as much or as little participation as you feel! Membership is open to anyone with a child attending ISO, and there are no membership fees.
The success of the PTA depends on parents and their engagement. We don’t ask for all your spare time – we know how busy people can be. You can spend as much or as little time as you would like on PTA activities.
Monthly meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of each month in the ISO library. Please check the school calendar for dates.
Everyone is welcome!
