Confirmed COVID-19 Case – Student

Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you that two students at ISO have tested positive for COVID – 19.

As is ISO COVID-19 Policy, the students will:

  • Immediately transition to online learning
  • Need to quarantine for at least 10 days
  • Have a negative PCR test and/or be medically cleared to return to in-person schooling.

After our first confirmed positive student cases — that occurred during the academic year, on January 15th — our school administration and school nurse have successfully completed the Johns Hopkins Contact Tracing Course. Yesterday, our “track and trace” protocol that we recently learned was implemented: the Health Office notified all the “potential close contacts” to parents in the respective classes.

Parents have been requested to monitor their students; if they show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, they should:

  • Self-isolate
  • Seek medical attention
  • Inform the school of their students’ status.

Our goal is to notify any “potential close contacts” within 24 hours, give them the information personally, and find out if they have any questions or concerns.

I want to thank everyone for their patience, cooperation, and understanding during this challenging period. Our overall goal remains to keep your students safe, and the school open, providing uninterrupted educational services during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether they are in-person or temporarily online.

Our thoughts are with our community members and we wish them a safe and speedy recovery.

Jeff
