Director’s message 43

Great Start and Great Expectations! On behalf of the International School of Ouagadougou faculty and staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new, returning, and prospective ISO families. Best wishes for the continued success in the transformation of ISO, over its forty years of service, to our ever-changing school community. As tomorrow we conclude our final day of our planning week for the school year, we are clearly anxious to get your students back on our campus, and to continue (or begin) our work with them!

The International School of Ouagadougou, over the years, has demonstrated a committed-focus on our “interconnected community.” Here at ISO, everybody plays an important part in our educational ecosystem. This year, we look forward to continuing to work in our “unified” community…we know that “tough times don’t last, but tough communities do.”

At ISO, students are known for their ability to work together with our master teachers to maximize their potential. We are expecting around 30 “new” students to join us at the International School of Ouagadougou on Monday, August 23rd, at 8:00am sharp!

  • The After School Activity Program (ASAP) will resume on Monday, September 6th, with limited offerings. We are hopeful that we will be able to offer them in a safe and appropriate learning environment until the Winter Break.

As we start this year, with our new upgrades, and returning (and new) ISO staff, the goal for this year will remain simple: “excellence to the highest degree.” To that end, all of us here at the International School of Ouagadougou look forward to working with you, as we start our school year next week, and to continuing our ongoing school improvement.

Two final notes to pass along to ensure quality communication:

  1. We will be testing our SMS system tomorrow afternoon. If you did not get a text message by Friday, please email cro@iso.bf to be added on the list.
  2. If you are not already a part of the ISO WhatsApp SMS backup, please be sure to follow the directions that were sent by email.

We look forward to seeing our students on Monday at 8:00am!
Attached is our updated COVID-19 Operational Plan to ensure we are able to offer a safe and appropriate learning environment for all our students.

Have a great afternoon.
