The ISO Scholarship Program is an academic scholarship for Burkinabé students. The program began in 2006 and has become a huge source of success and pride for our school. Several television documentaries and numerous newspaper articles have focused on the program, its participants and the positive impact that they are having on ISO and Burkina Faso.
The top ten candidates for the scholarships are selected in August based upon the results of the nation-wide BPC exam administered by the Ministry of Education of Burkina Faso. After the names of the top ten scorers have been released, the candidates are invited to ISO to participate in a series of interviews and write an essay. From those ten, two ninth grade students are awarded full four-year scholarships to ISO.
Scholarship students are expected to participate fully in the ISO community, to be leaders and to promote and be exemplars of the ISO mission statement.
Upon graduation from ISO most of these students have gone on to attend North American universities. These students have won full scholarships to Columbia University, Dartmouth College (2), Lehigh University, the University of Notre Dame and the University of British Columbia, among others..
