About ISO
The International School of Ouagadougou (ISO) is a non-profit, independent, co-educational day school which offers an English language educational program to children between the ages of 3 and 19 in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The school was established in 1976, and its mission is to provide an education to the children of diplomats, as well as families in Ouagadougou with business, missionary, and international development organizations. Read more about the school's mission and history.

ISO is fully accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). The school is a member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA), West Africa International Schools Athletic League (WAISAL) and Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE). Approximately 98% of the school’s income is derived from school fees. There is a one-time registration fee for new students. There is also a separate capital levy fee. The school also receives assistance from the United States Government in the form of services as well as financial grants. Read more about school fees.
The school year is comprised of 180 days of instruction, organized into two semesters extending from August through January and from February into June. Classes are held Monday through Friday. Read more about the ISO Program.
At the beginning of the 2009-2010 year, ISO enrollment was 205 students. Our current student body represents 28 different nationalities:
